It has taken me several rather disappointing tries and quite literally years to figure out how to capture this autumn orchard image.
To get it, I needed just the right amount of light at the right time of day, just the right amount of fog, and just the right time of year. In other words, I needed some good planning and further, some very good luck.
Earlier this week, on what might have looked to be an uninspiring gray morning to many people, things looked promising to me. I rolled out of bed, grabbed a much-needed coffee, and took a gamble that "today might be the day". After driving to the site and shivering in the cold for longer than I care to admit, the fog finally lifted and nature's magic unfolded before my eyes.
I was awestruck by the beauty. Not only had I been handsomely rewarded by the scene that I had envisioned for so long, but it carried the unexpected bonus of diffused rainbow light in the misty background.
